Static Movement

Movement and energy go hand in hand, but it is not something you see incorporated into stationary objects very often. Luckily as a photographer, I have the ability to bend the rules a bit and use my camera to convey energy in something otherwise static.
The below was shot in the Hartford, CT capitol building. During exposure the lens was zoomed out, creating the affect of movement. This is a more subtle example of the technique, but I think it works nonetheless. I find objects that have circles to begin with produce very interesting results. Enjoy!
