Can the Sky Be Your Subject?

When shooting sunsets, sunrises, storms, etc., a lot of people shoot the areas surrounding the sky.  But what if the sky was so awesome that it could stand alone in a image?
Below is an example of why an image can stand alone just being a capture of the sky.

This one is pretty obvious as to why it can stand alone.  Color and dramatic cloud pattern dominate the image here.  The framing of the subject helps as well.   Even though the clouds were pretty static when shot the image here depicts some motion due to the framing.  So next time you are out shooting, look to the sky, you may find some amazing image opportunities!
